Who we are

PhotoSweep is an on-device AI camera-roll cleanup tool, operated by Snowah. For any privacy question, contact hello@snowah.com.

We are the data controller for the processing described here under the GDPR.

What this policy covers

This policy explains what the PhotoSweep mobile app does with information. It does not cover third-party services that have their own policies, which we link where relevant.

What we collect and why

PhotoSweep is built to keep your data on your device. We collect as little as possible:

• Access to your photo library, used only on your device to find duplicates, blur, screenshots, and similar bursts. Your photos and their analysis never leave your device and are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
• App settings and the on-device index, stored on your device.
• Crash diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics).
• An advertising identifier used by Google AdMob to show ads; you can limit or reset it in your device settings.
• Purchase data: your upgrade entitlement, verified by the app stores (we never see card details).

Legal bases (GDPR Article 6)

• Performance of our agreement with you (providing the app and its core features).
• Your consent, for optional diagnostics and, where applicable, personalised advertising; you can withdraw consent at any time in the app or device settings.
• Our legitimate interests in keeping the app secure, stable, and free of abuse, balanced against your rights.
• Compliance with legal obligations, such as tax records for purchases.

Service providers and recipients

We share data only with processors that help us run the app:

• Google Firebase (Crashlytics), for stability reporting.
• Google AdMob, for advertising.
• Apple App Store and Google Play, for distribution, updates, and purchase verification.

Advertising

We show ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may use an advertising identifier to limit repetition and measure ads. You can reset or limit this identifier in your device privacy settings, and where required we ask for consent first.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside your country. Where they do, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep data

On-device data lasts only as long as the app is installed. Diagnostics are retained for a short period in aggregated form.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, and port your data, and to object to certain processing. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

PhotoSweep keeps no account and stores nothing about your library off-device, so deleting the app removes everything; revoking photo access stops all analysis immediately.

Children

These apps are not directed to children under the age required by your local law for digital consent, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect information. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to keep risk low.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date. Last updated 19 May 2026.
